Personal data and education:
Otmar Petschnig (born on 2 July 1960) graduated from secondary school in Klagenfurt and studied business administration (1979 - 1982) in Vienna. Due to his father's illness, he was unable to complete his post-graduate studies at Fontainebleau near Paris and succeeded his father as Managing Director in 1983.
Professional career:
Between 1991 and 1995 Otmar Petschnig served as chairman of "Junge Wirtschaft Österreich" (Association of Young Austrian Entrepreneurs).
In 1996 he assumed the position of Managing Director of "Das Dach".
The Fleischmann & Petschnig Group is one of the longest-standing and largest roofing contractors in Austria. The company operates at six locations - five in Austria and one in Slovenia - and cooperates with a French partner.
In 1998 Otmar Petschnig took over Eder Blechbau in Völkermarkt (currently holding 50%).
From 1993 to 2001 he was a member of the Advisory Board of WIFI (Institute for the Promotion of the Economy).
Other functions:
Otmar Petschnig served on the Supervisory Board of BABEG and was a member of the Federal Reform Commission.
Since 2001 he has been a Member of the Board of the Carinthia Regional Group of IV and a member of the „Höldrichsmühle" think tank of IV
Since 2002 he has been President of IV Carinthia.
