Our office in Brussels
The Federation of Austrian Industry has been a strong and long-term supporter of Austria’s EU membership and the idea of European integration.We have been representing the interests of Austrian Industry at a European level since 1984, when we became a member of BUSINESSEUROPE, the Confederation of European Business.
In order to work and react even more quickly and effectively, we opened our own branch in Brussels in 1988.
The head of the Brussels office is at the same time the designated permanent representative to BUSINESSEUROPE.
Our Brussels office provides direct representation of the Federation of Austrian Industry and its members to EU institutions and other decision-makers, trade associations and lobbying organisations.
We see our role as being the link between the legislative process at European level and the implementation of said legislation in Austria. We monitor key policies closely and act as an information transfer tool, allowing us to provide timely warning of possible legislative changes.
The principal task of the Brussels office is to provide and coordinate information and lobbying activity focusing on the interests of the Austrian Industry.
Main responsibilities and tasks:
- EU policy: liaison for monitoring and information
- Developing and coordinating EU lobbying strategies
- Permanent representation of the Federation of Austrian Industry to BUSINESSEUROPE
- Service point for our members in Brussels (information, networking, specific interest support)
